Fifth Sunday of Ordinary Time
February 5
Priest:
Blessed are those who trust in the Lord.
Filled with hope, we offer our petitions to the Father:

For the Church, that we may believe and trust in Jesus’ power who cured many
who were sick and drove our many demons. We pray to the Lord.
That world leaders
serve their people with compassion.
We pray to the
Lord.
For all who are
called to the priesthood or religious life,
that they
courageously answer that call. We pray to the Lord.
That we already
start planning for Lent so that it will be a most blessed season for us.
We pray to the Lord.
For all who have
fallen away from the practice of their faith,
that this be a time
for them to return to the Church.
We pray to the Lord.
For the sick, especially those who suffer from mental illness, that they may
be restored in spirit and know peace.
We pray to the Lord.

Sixth Sunday in Ordinary Time
February 12
Priest: To the God of mercy, who
gives us wholeness in Jesus Christ, we bring our petitions:

For all who lead the Church, that they find new strength in fervent prayer
and cheerful service. We pray to
the Lord.
For those in public service, that they always decide in favor of human
dignity and integrity. We pray
to the Lord.
For all married
couples, that the Holy Spirit may guide them to grow in a true communion of
persons, and for those couples experiencing difficulties, that the Spirit
may heal their relationships. We pray to the Lord.
That many new contributors will support the Bishop’s Appeal.

As we observe World
Day of the Sick, that the Lord will be close
to all who are ill
or infirm. We pray to the Lord.

Jesus cured the paralytic
and forgave his sins. We
pray for the grace of a clean heart that our petitions may find favor

That the Church be successful in reconciling people,
communities and nations. We pray
to the Lord.
Through the
teaching and proclamation of the Gospel by our Pope, Bishops, priests and
deacons, that many will be drawn close to Christ.

celebrates Presidents’ Day, that our president will do all he can to protect
the religious liberty we enjoy. We
pray to the Lord.
That world leaders

That Pope Benedict
and all leaders of the Church will be guided by God’s love for them and

That, during Lent,
the nations of the world will make earnest efforts at peacemaking throughout
the world. We pray to the Lord.
For those preparing for baptism and reception into the Church, that this
Lenten season be a time of joyful discovery of God’s love for them.

For all who have fallen away from the practice of their faith,

For the ill, the suffering, and the forgotten, that they find healing.

sincere generosity those they represent.

grow in greater faith, hope and love.
